Return to Writing
THE CROSSOVER GENE is now in the hands of my editor. After she’s finished (usually four weeks or less) then it’ll go off to my proofreader before being published. I feel very confident in an early October release for this book.
Currently, plans are to release this book at a reduced price for a limited time. I’m thinking $1.00, maybe through a Kindle countdown deal. Once the promotional deal expires, the price will go back to $4.99.

This is the second and last review for TA Williams.
The Remnants is the sequel to After The Event and takes place immediately following that novel. There is the introduction of several new characters as well as following all of the original characters as they splinter off.
Again, the world is a horrible place and it is sort of hard to remember that this is almost two years after society collapsed. It feels like it’s been a few days. This book definitely delves deeper into the characters and gives you things from their perspective. It also shows how easy it is to get lost/separated from each other and how people will bully others.
It follows that same, everything is horrible vibe, of most prepper/survivalist fiction with the big gangs taking over and stealing everything from others. This story makes no bones that everyone is a victim.
All that said…

Review of After The Event
I decided to do a couple book reviews for TA WIlliams because I read his books, and he doesn’t have a lot of reviews. Today’s and tomorrow’s posts will be reviews of his books. I am not in the habit of doing reviews and don’t expect it to be a regular thing.
After The Event is a book about what happens when society collapses. It’s never quite clear what the actual event is that causes the world to end, but it’s also largely irrelevant to the story as well. The book follows a family as they try to make it in the new, harsh world.
The author pulls no punches in this book. Once society collapses, the world is a dark, horrible place. It strikes me as extremely realistic at times and, at other times, a little ridiculous.
It is very clear that almost everyone, even those extremely prepared…

I had planned to write about villains today.
Instead, I found myself moved to tears by a blog post I read and the comments that followed, and I sat feeling helpless for a moment, blinking back tears, rifling through my memories and wrestling with the itch in my fingers. Because I don’t really want to write this post right now. In fact, it’s the last post I want to write. It’s the one argument I have avoided with religious zeal, trying to stay on the sidelines and keep my blinders on. Trying to keep my eyes on my goal.
Book on shelf.
That’s my goal.
If I don’t want to write this, then why on earth am I doing it? And what, pray tell, am I trying to say?
Book on shelf has been my goal for over a decade. I’d walk through Chapter One Bookstore in Hamilton, Montana and…

My wife has told me on multiple occasions that I have a “peculiar” sense of humor. When she isn’t in a good mood she puts it quite differently. My point is that from time to time I am going to share with you something that has caused me to burst out laughing and quite possibly wet myself, but some of you might not find it even remotely amusing. I apologize to those who do not understand. For those of you who share my sense of humor please find professional help before it is too late.
The words “purpose” and “blog” seem to be the equivalent of oil and water, but surely there are still reasons that everyone starts a blog. Personally I have a couple of reasons for starting this blog.
Most of the time I am a better communicator through writing then speaking. If I’m upset or down I am usually able to express my feelings better through the typed word then my stammering mouth. So the hope is this blog will provide a cathartic moment or two.
Also I like to write. Whether or not I am good at it is still a hotly debated topic but it is something I enjoy. I’m hoping this blog will keep me on track, provide me with ideas, and give me another outlet to bring keyboard to screen.
Also as everyone knows the internet is nothing if not a place for everyone to spout their opinions while at the same time lambasting other people’s opinions and beliefs. This will provide with a place to do that.
Feel free to call me out when I put my foot in my mouth or come up with a horrible idea, that is after-all the reason the internet was created. Until then.
